Microsoft Annual 2025 Financial Report Rag

This is a demo build, not client work for Microsoft, used to test a RAG pipeline against a genuinely difficult source document instead of a clean toy dataset. Annual financial reports are a good stress test for retrieval quality — long, dense with tables and footnotes, and full of numbers that are easy to get wrong if a model answers from general knowledge instead of the actual filing.
The pipeline ingests Microsoft's publicly available 2025 annual financial report, chunks it so tables stay together with their surrounding context, and answers financial questions by retrieving and citing the specific page a figure came from — the same standard applied to any client's own dense reporting or compliance documents.
The result is a Q&A layer that turns a search that would otherwise take hours of manual reading into a direct, source-cited answer, which is the actual point of a RAG pipeline: an answer is only as good as the passage it's grounded in.
